E.N. Miller Antique Mall – Four floors of vintage, antique, and eclectic knickkacks.Mechanic Coffee Company – Tiny but mighty local coffee joint.Off the Rails Barbeque - Laid-back restaurant and drafthouse often hosting live music.Shadyside neighborhood – Lively and vibrant area with a great mix of diverse restaurants and trendy shops. Fujiya Ramen is one of our favorite restaurants.Oakmont neighborhood – Verona’s little upscale neighbor. Also full of shopping, restaurants, and charm. We do not recommend Hoffstot’s Cafe, The Lot, or Oakmont Bakery however.
For those looking to sightsee while visiting, below are some recommendations:• Grandview Overlook on Mt Washington – The most scenic views of Pittsburgh’s skyline, rivers, and bridges. Ride the iconic Duquesne incline. Shops, eateries, and parking along Shiloh St and Grandview Ave. For a less busy alternative, there is the Grandview Park that also offers great views of the city.• The Strip – Located just outside of downtown, the one-half square mile shopping district is full of restaurants, ethnic grocers, produce stands, meat and fish markets, entertainment/recreation lounges, and sidewalk vendors. The Heinz History Center is also located here.• Point State Park and Fountain – Pittsburgh’s iconic landmark at the meeting point of the 3 rivers.• North Shore – Home of the Steeler’s stadium and PNC Park. Walk down the Three Rivers Heritage Trail that runs alongside the riverfront to visit the Mister Rogers Memorial Statue. The area also features many brewpubs and attractions within walking distance.
